- China

History
- Located in the southeast of China on the straits of Taiwan, Fuzhou
City is the Capital of the Fujian Province. Fuzhou is a political, economic
and cultural centre and has a population of 6.6 million, of which 2.43

- Fuzhou Economic and Technical Development Zone (ETDZ) is located
10 kilometres east of Fuzhou city and was established in 1985 and was

Developments
- Fuzhou CWC developed and now operates water treatment facilities
supplying water to the ETDZ including all industry groups and 100,000
domestic users. The facilities consist of two plants with a combines
capacity of 125Mld and 76 kilometres distribution network, mainly
gravity fed.
Raw water can
be obtained from two sources. Normally the plants draw water from
the Baimei reservoir, which is located 12 kilometres away and has
a storage capacity of 15 million cubic meters. In the event of drought,
water can be drawn from the Ming river adjacent to the treatment plant
via a pumping station.
The treatment
plants consist of:-
Mixing and flocculation
where aluminium chloride is added
Clarification with travelling bridge sludge collectors
Filtration
Chemical dosing
Clean Water Storage
