1st July 2006BIWATER PLC ACQUIRES 100% OF CASCAL BV
On 26th June 2006, Biwater took full control of Cascal.Since 2000 Biwater has owned 50% of Cascal and on Monday Biwater acquired the remaining 50% from n.v Nuon. Cascal will now become the Biwater Group’s flagship company for its worldwide water and wastewater investment and operations activities. This strategic acquisition will allow Cascal to grow and develop its interests in the rapidly expanding water market.
The Cascal portfolio of projects has been developed over the last 18 years. The company owns and operates companies in the UK, Chile, South Africa, Mexico, Indonesia and the Philippines and has a proven track record of providing world class services.
