The
Cascal Group Announces Results for year ended 31 March 2005

The
Cascal NV, an international investment and operations water company,
has announced its financial results for the year 2004/2005. This year
has certainly been the most remarkable year in the short history of
the Group.
The
highlights of the year include the revision of the contractual framework
in Puerto Vallarta (Mexico), the capital restructuring of Bournemouth
and West Hampshire Water (UK) and the supplemental agreement in Nelspruit
(South Africa).
Following
on from financial performance in previous years, the Group results again
show very significant improvement compared to the preceding year.
Net
turnover increased by 16% to USD 101.4 million, the operating profit
increased by 17% to USD 26.9 million and the income from associate companies
increased by 10% to USD 2.3 million.
The
changes to the contractual framework in Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) from
a BOOT contract to an Operation and Maintenance contract resulted in
a USD 12.9 million profit on disposal of the subsidiary holding the
assets.
For
the third year running, the net profit more than doubled to USD 26.1
million.
