The
Cascal Group Announces Results for year ended 31 March 2004

Cascal NV, an international investment and operations water company, today
announced its financial results for 2003/2004. During the year, the
Cascal Group achieved very significant progress from both the financial
and the operational standpoints.
Chief
Executive Officer for Cascal, Stephane Richer commented "I am delighted
with the Group's performance in 2003/2004 from enhanced customer services
and environmental services to much improved financial results. I am
confident the year 2004/05 will see further progress being delivered
for the benefit of our customers, our staff and our shareholders."
Net
turnover increased by 14% to USD 87.6 million whilst operating profit
increased by 49% to USD 22.9 million reflecting the success of programs
to improve the performance and profitability of the Group. The operating
profit margin progressed from 20% to 26%.
The
Group achieved a net profit of USD11.7 million, a 160% improvement on
last year's net profit and the highest result ever achieved since the
formation of the Group.
Operational
highlights from the year include the completion of the second phase
of the Duriangkang water treatment plant in Batam, Indonesia, the completion
of a strategic link main in Bournemouth, UK and the ISO 9001 quality
accreditation of Subicwater, the first water company to achieve such
standards in the Philippines.
